Melania Trump Named 2020’s ‘Woman Of Distinction’

Palm Beach University has named the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, their 2020 Woman Of Distinction. The award will recognize the first lady’s charitable leadership in organizations as well as her continued support of education, health, and community initiatives.

(Photo by The White House via Getty Images)Eileen Burns, co-chair of the event told the Palm Beach Post, “Our first lady is an exquisite human being, a magnificent wife and life partner, a superb mother and an outstanding first lady, who represents us brilliantly in the United States and worldwide.” In 2017, Melania Trump set up the “Be Best” project which aims at promoting children’s emotional and social health.

“Melania is a perfect example of a Woman of Distinction and we are most proud to honor her,” Burns continued. The ceremony is set to take place on February 19th at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach.

“In her role as First Lady, Mrs. Trump focuses her time on the many issues affecting children. An unwavering characteristic of the First Lady is her aptitude for showing love and compassion in all that she does,” Palm Beach Atlantic University said in a statement.

“Mrs. Trump has traveled across the country and internationally to highlight programs and people who are dedicated to helping children overcome these modern-day concerns.”

The proceeds from the event with be donated to a women’s scholarship fund. Usually the award is given to two women but the school decided to just focus the honor on one this year.
